Rheinmetall provides Ukraine 20 Marder infantry combat vehicles

The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall announced on October 25 that it would send 20 Marder infantry combat vehicles to by the end of the third-quarter of 2024.
Rheinmetall has transferred to Ukraine, directly or indirectly, over 200 combat vehicles including more than 100 Marder 1A3 models. This was done through the so-called “circular exchange program”. The German manufacturer received its first order for the Marder infantry combat vehicles in March 2023.
According to a statement, the German government ordered and financed the recent batch of 20 Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicles provided to Ukraine. The funding was “mid-double digit million euros,” the statement said.
The Marder 1A3 Rheinmetall is receiving in Ukraine is equipped with an additional laser rangefinder for efficient and accurate target engagement.

Rheinmetall announced in late July that it had received a government order from Ukraine to begin construction of a ammunition factory in Ukraine. The company had previously stated that it planned to open four production plants in Ukraine.
