**EU Countries Reject Georgian PM’s Claims**
Romania, Italy, and Spain have denied claims made by Georgian Dream Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. He said their representatives at a recent EU meeting supported sanctions against his party members.
But the countries say this is not true. They condemned the “inaccurate” information spread by Mr. Kobakhidze.
Romania’s Foreign Ministry released a statement saying it was “deeply disappointed” in Mr. Kobakhidze’s choice of words. The country repeated its concern about the situation in Georgia and the government’s decision to suspend EU accession talks.
**Italy Also Speaks Out**
The Italian Foreign Ministry also made a statement, saying it supported sanctions against Georgian Dream party members. Italy condemned the violence in Georgia and hoped that the country could change course and resume its European path.
**Spain Rejects PM’s Claims**
The Spanish Foreign Ministry rejected Mr. Kobakhidze’s claims on social media. It said Spain has been concerned about civil rights in Georgia and has opposed disinformation campaigns.
All three countries say they support the EU’s decision to suspend visa-free travel for Georgian diplomatic passports.
