**Russia’s Chemical Plant Hit in Attack**
A chemical plant in Rostov Oblast, Russia, was reportedly hit in an attack on December 18. The Kamensky Combine is one of the largest chemical plants in Russia.
The factory makes rocket fuel and parts for ammunition and explosives, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine‘s counter-disinformation center. He said this on his Telegram channel with a video showing explosions at the plant.
Russian officials have not commented on the attack. However, Rostov Oblast Acting Governor Yury Slyusar claimed that Russian air defense forces shot down 10 missiles in the region on December 18.
The Kamensky Combine has been sanctioned by the EU, UK, and US for its role in Russia’s war against Ukraine. The plant produces rocket fuel for multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and intercontinental ballistic missiles using solid fuel.
**Unverified Claims**
The Kyiv Independent could not verify the claims at the time of publication. A week ago, Ukraine allegedly struck a boiler plant in Rostov Oblast in an overnight missile attack on December 11.
**Targeting Military-Industrial Complex**
Kyiv continues to target military-industrial complex facilities, airbases, and oil refineries in Russia as part of its ongoing conflict with Moscow.
