**US Politician and Tech Billionaire Clash with Polish Foreign Minister**
On March 9, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and tech billionaire Elon Musk sharply responded to Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. They dismissed Sikorski’s concerns about Starlink being cut off in the future.
Sikorski had earlier expressed concerns that Poland would look for alternative suppliers if SpaceX turned out to be an unreliable provider of Starlink satellite internet for Ukraine. However, Rubio and Musk claimed that Sikorski was “just making things up.”
**No Threats Made About Cutting Off Starlink**
Rubio said: “No one has made any threats about cutting Ukraine off from Starlink.” He also stated that without Starlink, Ukraine would have lost the war long ago, and Russians would be on the border with Poland now.
Musk added that Poland only pays a small fraction of the cost for Ukraine’s Starlink access. He said: “Be quiet, small man. You pay a tiny fraction of the cost.” Musk also claimed that there is no substitute for Starlink.
**Previous Comments Against Ukrainian Officials**
This is not the first time Rubio and Musk have made comments against Ukrainian officials. Earlier in March, Rubio stated that Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine is a “proxy war” between Moscow and Washington.
Musk has also made similar statements, criticizing President Volodymyr Zelensky‘s position frequently while refraining from criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin for starting the invasion.
