The Georgian Rugby Union and British media giant Future Plc have joined forces to launch a new magazine, Rugby World GEORGIA. The agreement was signed by the President of the Georgian Rugby Union, Ioseb Tkemaladze, and the Head of International Relations of Future Plc, Brandon Bester, at the Tbilisi Marriott.
The partnership between the two organizations is a great honor for Georgian Rugby, as England is known as the birthplace of rugby and a leader in various fields. The cooperation will focus on promoting Georgian rugby and providing news and analysis for both Georgian and English rugby fans.
Future Plc, founded in 1985, is a global media company with over 150 magazines and web publications covering a wide range of topics. The Rugby Journalists’ League, founded by prominent sports journalists in Georgia, will work together with Future Georgia LLC and the Georgian Rugby Union to publish the magazine.
The magazine will be published once a quarter, with a high-quality print edition of approximately 100 pages. It will also be available in digital format. The printing and distribution partner for the magazine is media holding “Palitra Media.”
The decision to collaborate with England was not made lightly, as the two countries share a strong connection through rugby. The Georgian national team has been invited twice by England’s National team for joint training sessions, and one of the most successful clubs in Georgia is named “Lelo-Saracens,” with “Lelo” being an ancient Georgian game similar to rugby.
The Rugby World GEORGIA magazine will be a valuable resource for rugby fans in both Georgia and England, thanks to the expertise and experience of the journalists involved. The magazine will also showcase the strong bond between the two countries through the sport of rugby.
