**Russia Targets Ukraine’s Power Infrastructure**
Ukraine’s energy minister, German Galushchenko, says a big Russian attack is happening on the country’s power system. This is the biggest such attack since early September.
The attack involves missiles and drones, with several explosions reported across Ukraine. Poland, which shares a border with Ukraine, has sent fighter jets to patrol its airspace as a precaution.
**Multiple Cities Affected**
In southern Ukraine, the city of Mykolaiv was badly hit, resulting in at least two deaths and several injuries. The port city of Odesa also experienced a power cut affecting the entire city.
In Kyiv, the capital, fragments from intercepted missiles and drones fell in several places, but no one was hurt. Poland’s military confirmed that its planes are working with other countries to respond to the attack.
