Russia bans Discord for disrupting its military communications in Ukraine

According to an announcement by Roskomnadzor, the internet regulator, has banned Discord, popular platform communication widely used by its military to coordinate operations in Ukraine. The Post reports that the decision has sparked criticisms and renewed debates on technological shortcomings within Russian Armed Forces.
The ban has revealed that the Russian military has failed to implement a secure communications system, produced in-, more than two and half years after the full-scale in Ukraine. Instead, troops have relied on privately-owned platforms such as Discord or Telegram for battlefield communication.
