Russia is stepping up its offensive against the strategic city of Lyman, Donetsk. It has deployed new assault units in order to secure territory in eastern Ukraine.
According to a report by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence, the Russian occupying forces are trying to intensify their offensive around the city of Lyman.
Lyman, a city in Donetsk, is strategically important for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to counteroffensive against Luhansk Oblast. It is a key point in the advance towards the settlements of Kreminna and Rubizhne.
HUR reported that Russia had deployed additional assault units of the 283rd & 488th motorized-rifle regiments on the Lyman front to this offensive.
According to intelligence sources “Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces have inflicted significant casualties on these newly-arrived Russian troops, rendering certain assault groups combat ineffective.”
“To sustain offensive operations the occupation command uses coercion and intimidation tactics.” HUR reported that lightly wounded invaders were forced to engage in’meat-grinder’ attacks.
Russian soldiers who are demoralized refuse to fight, blaming the lack of shelter from Ukrainian drones.
As of today, Russia has lost nearly 690 720 soldiers in Ukraine, including 1,680 in the last day alone.
