**Russia Launches Record Number of Drones Against Ukraine**
On the night of November 26, Russia launched a record number of drones against Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 188 Shaheds and other drones were sent towards Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Most of these drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses. The Air Force reported that 76 drones were destroyed across 17 regions. However, some drones managed to evade Ukrainian defenses. It’s estimated that 95 drones were “lost,” likely due to electronic warfare tactics.
Some drones even flew into neighboring Belarus, which is a rare occurrence. Russia has been using cheap, kamikaze-style drones like the Shaheds against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war.
**Record-Breaking Drone Attacks**
This recent attack marks a new record for Russia’s drone launches against Ukraine. In October, Moscow launched over 2,000 strike drones, breaking the previous September record by nearly 700.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he aims to develop effective countermeasures against Shahed-type drone attacks. Despite these efforts, Russian forces continue to use this tactic against Ukraine.
**Other Attacks Overnight**
In addition to the drone attacks, Russia launched four Iskander-M ballistic missiles overnight on November 26. At least two people were killed and over 40 injured in these attacks.
