Russia relocates Kinzhal hypersonic rocket carriers to Belarus
The Information Resistance group reports the Russian Federation has moved two MiG-31K Kinzhal missile carriers to Belarus. This was stated by the Telegram channel “Belarusian Hajun.”
The first aircraft arrived in Belarus on October 9 evening, while the second aircraft arrived on October 10 during the day. Both aircraft landed at Machulishchy Airfield.
The message states that “the MiG-31K fighters are able to carry the hypersonic aeroballistic Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, and they can launch them from up to 2,000 km away.”
The Russian Aerospace Forces MiG-31K fighters have not been seen in Belarus since April 6, 2023, a period of 1.5 years.
Andrii Kovalenko is the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.
According to him, this could be an attempt by Russians in order to protect the aircraft that are constantly at risk on Russian airfields.
“However, it is not impossible that Russia could be planning a provocation, especially after the accidental publication of the strike by the Russian ‘Shahed” drone near Mozyr where the oil refinery was located. It became apparent that Russia might be preparing to provoke Belarus,” Kovalenko said.
