Overnight, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv using guided aerial bombs. They damaged civilian infrastructure such as gas stations and hypermarkets.
Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Russian forces had targeted the city using guided aerial bombs.
One of the bombs damaged civilian facilities including two gas stations and a hotel at an intersection between districts.
Terekhov stated that “Russia has struck a busy highway in the city.” The strike caused damage to the road surface, trolleybus contacts, and street lighting.
No casualties were reported.
According to The Telegraph, Russian forces are actively deploying new 600-kilogram Grom E1 KABs that have a range up to 120 kilometers. The rocket engines are responsible for this extended range. This allows Russian Su-30 and Su-34 aircraft to launch strikes beyond the reach of many Ukrainian air defense systems.
According to the report, the Grom-E1 Bombs were used against Myrnohrad and Kharkiv in the past, but mass production is not yet established.
