**Russian Drone Strike Kills One, Injures Six in Kherson**
A Russian drone struck a bus in a Kherson neighborhood on January 6, killing one person and injuring six others. The man killed was Volodymyr Shum, a 50-year-old specialist with the municipal services department of the Kherson City Council.
The injured include five women aged between 29 and 57, as well as the 66-year-old driver. All were hospitalized with blast injuries and are undergoing medical evaluation.

Kherson and surrounding areas have been under frequent bombardment since being liberated during Ukraine’s counteroffensive in fall 2022. The region endures daily Russian attacks, with Moscow‘s forces maintaining control of the east bank of the Dnipro River.

Mykhailo Drapatyi, commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, acknowledged significant challenges within the French-trained 155th Mechanized Brigade, including high desertion rates and poor organization.
