**Russian Drone Attack Kills 59-Year-Old Man in Kherson**
A devastating drone attack by Russian forces has resulted in the death of a 59-year-old man in the city of Kherson, located in southern Ukraine. The news was confirmed by Kherson Oblast Governor Oleksandr Prokudin on April 6.
According to Prokudin’s Telegram post, the victim died instantly after being hit by the drone at around 6:30 am. The governor extended his condolences to the man’s family and expressed his outrage over the attack.
This tragic incident highlights the continued brutality of Russia‘s military actions against civilians in Ukraine. Since Ukrainian forces reclaimed territories on the western bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast in 2022, Russia has persisted in launching attacks on those remaining in the area.
**Widespread Attack Across Ukraine**
The drone attack on Kherson occurred as part of a larger-scale Russian assault across Ukraine overnight. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched an impressive number of missiles and drones, with 23 missiles and 109 drones deployed against Ukrainian targets.
In Kyiv, the capital city, one person was killed and three others were injured in a ballistic missile attack. These attacks demonstrate the continued aggression of Russian forces towards Ukraine’s civilian population.
**Crisis in Kherson Oblast**
Governor Prokudin has reported that approximately 66,000 people live in Kherson, with around 145,000 residents in the entire oblast. The presence of children under the age of 14 is particularly concerning, as they are often disproportionately affected by such attacks.
This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine. As the conflict continues to escalate, the need for international attention and support has never been greater.
