**UK to Transfer Billions to Ukraine from Frozen Russian Assets**
The UK plans to give over $2.5 billion to Ukraine using money from frozen Russian assets. The funds will go towards helping Ukraine’s military, buying weapons, and rebuilding damaged infrastructure.
However, the Russian embassy in London is not happy about this plan. They call it a “fraudulent scheme” and say it’s unfair for Russia to lose its money.
The UK government says they are following through on a promise made by G7 leaders in July. The funds will be used solely for Ukraine’s military. This could help Ukraine develop advanced drones that can reach far into enemy territory.
Russia is not the only country upset about this plan. Last week, Russia accused the US of “robbery” over its transfer of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.
**Civilians Suffer in Ukraine**
There has been a lot of violence in Ukraine lately. Over 12,000 civilians have been killed and more than 27,800 wounded since February 2022. The UN reports these numbers.
A recent attack on a residential building in the city of Kherson damaged a 9-story apartment building and injured several people.
**International Support**
The US and other countries are still supporting Ukraine with money and arms. President-elect Donald Trump plans to continue this support, according to the Financial Times.
However, Russia is not happy about this. They have halted oil shipments through a pipeline used by Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
