Russian Police Search for Former Georgian Minister
The Russian police are looking for the former Defense Minister of Georgia, Davit Kezerashvili. He is wanted on charges of large-scale fraud.
A court in Moscow arrested him without his presence. This means he didn’t appear in court to answer the charges. The police have now added him to a list of people who are wanted internationally.
The arrest was made because Kezerashvili is accused of committing a serious crime. He also faces imprisonment as a preventive measure, which means it’s thought he might try to escape or cause more problems if left free.
A court in Moscow confirmed the arrest and said Kezerashvili didn’t appeal the decision. The police now have two separate cases against him.
