**Russia’s Military Intervention in Syria**
For over 10 years, Russia had been helping Bashar Assad’s regime stay in power. In exchange, Russia got to use the Tartus port and Khmeimim airbase as military bases. These bases allowed Russian forces to carry out operations in the Middle East and Africa.
**Ukraine‘s Intelligence Reports Hasty Evacuation**
According to Ukraine’s intelligence agency, the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR), Russian forces are quickly leaving Syria. The report suggests that Russia is evacuating its naval and air bases as opposition forces gain control of the country.
