**Ukrainian Missile Hits Russian Boiler Plant**
A Ukrainian missile hit a boiler plant in Russia’s Rostov Oblast on December 11. The attack damaged critical infrastructure in the city of Taganrog, according to local Russian officials.
Acting Governor Yuri Slyusary claimed that an overnight Ukrainian missile attack struck an “industrial facility” in Taganrog, causing damage and setting off loud explosions around 3:30 a.m. local time. Videos on social media show the blasts.
Mayor Svetlana Kambulova later reported that heating supply had been disrupted in 27 apartment buildings in the city following the attack on the boiler plant.
**No Casualties Reported**
Russian officials claim there were no casualties as a result of the alleged attack, but the full extent of the damage is not yet clear. Ukraine’s military has not commented on the alleged attack.
**Russia’s Response**
The alleged attack comes as Russia continues to increase its onslaught against Ukrainian energy facilities. In November, Russia struck a “massive blow” to Ukraine’s power grid, according to Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
Rostov Oblast, situated on the Russia-Ukraine border, has become a regular target of Ukrainian attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion.
