Russian authorities in the city of Yenakiieve, Donetsk Oblast, have announced evacuations from some areas. This comes after reports of explosions were shared on local Telegram channels.
Footage was published that shows what seems to be multiple secondary explosions. However, Ukraine‘s government has not commented on the incident yet.
The Russian occupation authorities did not give a reason for the evacuation, saying the situation is “under control.” No further details have been given about possible consequences.
Yenakiieve is a city in eastern Ukraine that was occupied by Russia since 2014. The city is known for its mining and metallurgy industry and is also the birthplace of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
