Today, there is lot of important news coming from . The have resumed their offensive efforts after a month-long pause and are now trying to approach from the north by taking control of the northern coal . This has led to intensified fighting around the town, as forces are successfully containing the Russian breakthrough attempts near Kalinivka. However, this has also created a dangerous situation, with a small area of just a few hundred meters becoming a deadly battleground.

Previously, the Russian forces were focused on securing their control over the eastern side of the canal near Hryhorivka, while also trying to cross the canal and gain full control of Kalinivka. However, their operations were put on hold for some time as they needed to recover from previous losses. Some of their were also redeployed to the region. But now, after replenishing their ranks and stabilizing other fronts, the has resumed their offensive in the Chasiv Yar area.

Their main objective is to capture the town of Kalinivka, which is located north of Chasiv Yar. To do this, they need to cross the canal that runs through the town, dividing it into two parts. If they can secure positions on the western side of the town, it would give them a strategic advantage to launch an attack on the northern coal mine complex near Chasiv Yar. This complex is a key tactical high ground, as it sits at a slightly higher elevation than Chasiv Yar itself. This means that whoever controls it has a better view of the surrounding area.

By taking control of the northern coal mine complex, the Russians would be able to use its elevated heaps to establish fire control over Chasiv Yar. This would allow them to monitor the movements of Ukrainian troops and provide valuable for their aviation and artillery units. The elevated heaps could also serve as ideal spots for mortar and sniper positions, making it easier for the Russians to attack Ukrainian forces in the town. If they are successful in consolidating their hold on the northern coal mine, they would be in a position to launch a direct assault on the center of Chasiv Yar, putting the Ukrainian defense of the city at risk.

To implement this plan, the Russian forces launched an assault on Kalinivka after heavily shelling and bombarding the village. With a significant number of paratroopers replenished, they were able to sustain intense and high-casualty attacks. Their goal was to quickly capture Kalinivka and then move on to attack the northern coal mine complex. However, their advance was halted after covering less than five hundred meters west of Kalinivka.
