In occupied Ukrainian territory, a scheme that involves the forced sale of agricultural goods at artificially reduced prices continues to operate.
The Center for National Resistance reported that Russian occupiers are attempting to remove over 300 tons of sunflower harvests from the occupied Luhansk Oblast.
The Center claims that “the occupiers purchased’ the harvest from local farmers with artificially reduced prices, with the intention to export it to Russia and then to African countries.”
This operation is part of a pattern that has existed since the beginnings of Russian aggression on occupied Ukrainian territory.
Local farmers are forced to sell their harvest at fixed prices to companies designated by the occupation authorities, leaving them with no choice.
The Center for National Resistance stresses that the removal of Ukrainian harvest is both an economic crime and part of a larger strategy to undermine the economic stability of the region.
The Center reports that “Russia is using Ukrainian assets to strengthen its position in the international arena”, adding that such actions must be condemned by the International Community and those responsible held accountable before the Law.
