Protests outside Georgian Parliament
People are gathering near the parliament building in Tbilisi, Georgia. They are protesting against the results of the recent election.
The protesters claim that the election was unfair and that they do not recognize the winners. Some people are shouting “Russians, slaves!” at the deputies who have been elected on the Georgian Dream list.
These deputies have arrived at the parliament building in cars. Police officers are nearby to keep an eye on things.
Protesters are gathered all around the parliament area, including on Rustaveli Avenue and Chitadze Street. They want new elections to be held.
The first session of the new parliament is due to start today at 12:00. Deputies who were elected by the Georgian Dream party will take their seats in parliament.
So far, no other party that won seats has said they accept the election results and plan to enter parliament.
