Protests in front of Georgia’s parliament have been going on for 14 days.
People are demonstrating on Rustaveli Avenue, where they’ve blocked the road. This is because they’re occupying the carriageway.
Before that, people who work in the public sector walked from Republic Square to the Parliament and joined the protest. The protesters cheered them as they arrived.
The protesters want two things: for Georgia’s government to schedule new elections and for those arrested during the protests to be released. They are unhappy with a decision made by the “Georian Dream” on November 28. This decision means that Georgia will not discuss opening talks with the European Union until 2028.
Protests have been happening in the capital city and several other cities across the country for over 10 days.
