**Serbia’s Socialist Party to Stay in Ruling Coalition**
A leader of Serbia’s Socialist Party (SPS), Branko Ruzic, has said that his party should remain part of the ruling coalition. However, he wants SPS to have a more equal role and not take over any ministries.
The SPS is currently a junior partner in the coalition led by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Its leader, Ivica Dacic, is the Internal Affairs Minister.
Ruzic said that the SPS should focus on maintaining its independence. He also expressed support for Dacic and defended him against criticism from President Aleksandar Vucic and other politicians.
The statement was made after a meeting of the SPS presidency. Ruzic wants to calm down the political crisis in the country and avoid negative statements about students and the future of Serbia.
