**Georgia’s President Criticizes One-Party Rule**
The parliament in Georgia is not working properly, according to the country’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili. She said that decisions are being made without anyone knowing why or by whom.
“We have a situation where one party controls everything,” she stated during a briefing. “We don’t know who is making these decisions, whether it’s someone in Georgia or outside the country.”
The government and parliament lack legitimacy, Zurabishvili added. She said that they are trying to create an image of governance, but in reality, the country has come to a standstill.
**Criticism of Government Institutions**
Zurabishvili criticized various state institutions, saying that they are all controlled by one party. This includes the anti-corruption bureau, the audit office, and the national bank.
The Public Broadcaster is also being criticized for showing a false image of reality, she said.
**Judiciary in Crisis**
The judiciary is not functioning properly, according to Zurabishvili. She stated that there has been no reform, and justice is unattainable.
“This is effectively the breakdown of the democratic system,” she added.
**Economic Isolation**
Georgia is becoming increasingly isolated, which is affecting the economy, Zurabishvili said. The country is closed off, and most revenue comes from circumventing sanctions.
She noted that some income is coming from expensive vehicles leaving Georgia, which are actually headed for Russia.
**No Recognition from Key Partners**
The elections in Georgia have not been recognized by key partners such as the European Union and the United States.
“We are isolated as a nation,” Zurabishvili stated. “However, we have ways to come out of this isolation.”
