EU Takes Action Against Georgia‘s Foreign Agents Law
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, thinks the EU made a strange decision. The EU is suspending some rules that make it easier for Georgian diplomats and officials to travel to Europe.
This change might affect Georgians who travel to the EU as part of official meetings or events. They will have to apply for visas instead of getting them easily. This also affects holders of diplomatic passports, meaning they can’t get into EU countries quickly anymore.
The EU is doing this because of Georgia’s new “foreign agents” law. But President Zurabishvili thinks the EU should be more concerned about other problems in Georgia, like elections that were not fair and violence against protesters.
