The President of Georgia Speaks Out.
The fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken about her current situation. In an interview, she said that being president no longer means going to the presidential palace every day. Instead, she meets with ordinary people and tries to do what she did before.
President Zurabishvili also spoke about the elections in Georgia. She believes that they were unfair, using methods similar to those used by Russia. For three months now, Georgian people have been protesting in the streets, demanding change. The President thinks that the only way out of this crisis is for the government to ask the people what they want.
According to Zurabishvili, the Georgian people want new elections so that they can choose their leaders and determine their own future. They do not want to be led by an oligarch towards Russia’s direction. The President supports the protesters who are fighting for a European future for Georgia.
