Georgian President Speaks Out on Crisis
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken with the European Council’s leader, António Costa. She said the only way to end the current crisis peacefully is through new elections.
Zurabishvili made her comments in a phone call with Costa. The two leaders discussed the situation in Georgia. After talking, Zurabishvili wrote on social media that she had told Costa about the need for new elections.
In her message, Zurabishvili said President Costa promised to continue supporting the people of Georgia and their goal of joining Europe. This support is important to many Georgians who want their country to be part of the European Union.
