President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, responded to a statement by the “Georgian Legion”. They said it was Russian disinformation.
The President wrote on social media: “This is fake news. The only war in our country is between the government and its people.”
The “Georgian Legion” earlier denied claims that they were planning to come back to Georgia and join protests. They said this was a lie spread by Russia.
They also said they support the Georgian people‘s anger at the government’s decision to stop working towards joining the EU. But their fight is in Ukraine, where they are fighting against Russian aggression.
