**Georgia Under One-Man Rule: President’s Concerns**
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken out against the country’s current situation. She stated that Georgia is now under complete control of a single party or one man.
According to her speech at the European Parliament, the recent suspension of negotiations with the EU was not done with proper authority. The President claimed that the declaration made on November 28 was like a “declaration of war”. It said that the Prime Minister lacked legitimacy because he didn’t have enough support from voters.
The Constitution of Georgia says that all institutions should work together to move forward with European integration. However, the Prime Minister has suspended these negotiations without proper mandate. This situation shows that the country is moving towards Russian–style governance.
**Media and NGOs Under Threat**
President Zurabishvili expressed concerns about the freedom of media in Georgia. She said that opposition media are struggling financially, possibly due to pressure from those in power. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are also under threat, especially with the introduction of a new law inspired by Russia.
**Imminent Loss of Security Protection**
The President herself is facing a significant issue. After two impeachment attempts, she will lose her security protection in just one week’s time.
