**Georgia’s President Slams Government Over Treatment of Colleagues**
The president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken out against her government on social media. She is angry about a meeting held by the Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster.
At this meeting, officials discussed what to do with four colleagues who have critical opinions. They think these journalists should be investigated for spreading false information.
**A Return to Soviet Times?**
President Zurabishvili compared this situation to the way officials used to talk in Soviet times. She said they would decide which people to hand over to the authorities and accuse of treason.
She is worried that people are now ready to send their colleagues to prison for expressing different opinions. This, she says, shows what kind of regime Georgia has become.
**A Threat to Democracy?**
The president’s message was clear: “Today this is the main question: ‘to be or not to be?'”. She wants to know if people are willing to hand over others to the authorities for speaking out.
The four journalists in question were involved in a dispute with their management several months ago. They have accused their colleagues of slander, but have not provided any evidence.
**A Warning to the Government**
President Zurabishvili’s comments are a warning to the government. She is telling them that they need to respect people’s freedom of speech and not be afraid of open debate.
