**Georgia’s President Slams Parliament**
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken out against the country‘s parliament. In a post on social media, she called their actions an “insult to democracy.”
She said that the parliament is doing something that looks like a normal election process, but only one candidate is running. This, according to her, undermines the democratic values of the country.
**Police Protect Christmas Tree**
The President also commented on the police presence in Tbilisi during the holiday season. She compared it to a “police state,” where the authorities are more focused on controlling the people than serving them.
She pointed out that the city’s Christmas tree is being protected by police, making it seem like it is under arrest.
