Georgia’s President Speaks to EU Parliament
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, spoke in front of the European Parliament. She said that she believes her country will win its current struggle.
President Zurabishvili compared Georgia’s fight to Ukraine‘s. She noted that both countries are fighting for freedom and a future with Europe. However, she pointed out that Georgia is not using force, but rather relying on its people’s efforts.
The President asked the European Parliament two questions. First, will they help speed up the transition for Georgia? Or will it take longer, possibly through the winter? Second, will Europe show initiative and support Georgia?
President Zurabishvili emphasized that Georgians are strong and determined. She believes that together with Europe, they can defend its values.
