Georgia’s Leader Speaks Out Against New President
Salome Zurabishvili, the current leader of Georgia, says her time in office will not end until a new president is elected. This means she does not recognize the legitimacy of the new government and its president.
Zurabishvili made these comments in an interview with France 24. She said that she was chosen by the people to lead the country, while the new president, Mikheil Kavelashvili, was picked by a group controlled by one party, Georgian Dream.
