**Georgia Makes Changes to Military Service Laws**
The Defense and Security Committee of Georgia met recently to discuss two important laws. These are the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection and the Draft Law on Military Duty and Military Service.
Chairman Mikheil Sarjveladze introduced these drafts, which make changes to how military service works in Georgia. Some people will now be exempt from serving in the military. For example, those who have been limited due to health reasons but are no longer considered unfit will not be drafted for a short time (up to 3 months).
The Defense and Security Committee approved these drafts, which means they will move on to become laws if passed by other authorities.
