**Ukraine Government Services Hit by Cyberattack**
A cyberattack on Ukraine’s government services was reported on December 19. The attack targeted several state registers, including those overseen by the Justice Ministry.
**Russia Suspected**
Volodymyr Karasteliov, acting cybersecurity chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), said that hackers from Russia’s military intelligence agency (GRU) could be behind the cyberattack. This is not the first time Russian hackers have targeted Ukrainian companies and government institutions since 2022.
**Details of Attack Revealed**
Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna said that several state registers were affected by the cyberattack, but did not specify which ones. She also confirmed that other state information systems were not impacted.
**Recovery Efforts Underway**
The Justice Ministry’s data has been saved and recovery efforts are underway. All state registers have been suspended until further notice.
**Possible Data Leak**
Karasteliov warned that the SBU cannot yet rule out the possibility of a data leak due to the cyberattack.
