**German Opposition Criticize Chancellor for Not Providing Taurus Missiles to Ukraine**
Florian Hahn, a German politician from the opposition CDU/CSU bloc, has criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz‘s decision not to transfer long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. This criticism was reported by Tagesschau on November 19.
According to Hahn, the chancellor is more interested in pleasing his party than doing what’s best for Germany’s foreign and security policy. He believes that Scholz wants to win over left-wing voters ahead of an upcoming election.
Hahn also said that the chancellor’s refusal to provide Taurus missiles has made him look indecisive and unreliable on the international stage. Other politicians, including potential future Chancellor Friedrich Merz, have taken a different stance. They say they would allow the delivery of Taurus missiles if certain conditions were met, such as issuing an ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
**German Politicians Disagree Over Missile Delivery**
The German-Swedish-built Taurus missiles have a range of up to 500 kilometers (310 miles), making them more powerful than some other types of missiles provided to Ukraine. Robert Habeck, the current Vice Chancellor and former leader of the Green party, has also said he would support delivering Taurus missiles if elected.
