**Serbian Government to Increase Oil and Gas Imports**
The Serbian government plans to raise its imports of natural gas and crude oil by 25 percent this year. This was announced by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia (RES Serbia) on Friday.
According to the Energy Balance for 2025, the authorities plan to cover most of the country’s energy needs through imports. The balance shows that 80 percent of Serbia’s crude oil and 90 percent of its natural gas needs will be met through imports.
The government also plans to import less oil derivatives this year compared to last year. Specifically, it aims to bring in 800,000 tons of oil derivatives, which is 22 percent less than in 2024. On the other hand, the authorities are committed to increasing power production from renewable sources. The national power system will provide 62 percent of Serbia’s electricity.
