**Serbia to Increase Oil and Gas Imports**
The Serbian government is planning to raise its imports of natural gas and crude oil by 25 percent this year. This was announced by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia (RES Serbia).
According to the Serbian Energy Balance for 2025, the authorities plan to cover most of the country‘s needs for crude oil and natural gas through imports. The balance shows that 80% of the country’s crude oil needs will be met through imports, along with 90% of its natural gas needs.
RES said that the government is planning to import 800,000 tons of oil derivatives this year, which is 22% less than in 2024. However, there are plans to increase power production from renewable sources. The balance shows that 62% of the country’s electricity will come from the national power system.
