Serbia’s Lawyers Go on Strike
The Serbian Bar Association has decided to go on strike for 30 days. This decision was made during an emergency meeting on Sunday.
The lawyers are taking this step in support of students who have been protesting. They also want to show that they disagree with the way the government is treating the legal system.
Despite going on strike, lawyers will still do some work to make sure their clients’ rights are protected. This way, people can still get help if they need it.
One lawyer, Aleksandar Olenik, said that the strike is also against the country‘s president, Aleksandar Vucic. He thinks that the president has been using his power unfairly and hurting the justice system.
