Since its capture in 2022, the village of Hornostaivka on the left bank Dnipro River, in Kherson Region, has been a center for Russian occupation terror.

Russian forces may have set up a chamber of torture in Hornostaivka where hundreds of people could have been subjected. Many people have disappeared without a trace. Oleksandr slisarenko was taken by Russian forces from his home in August 2022.
Ruslan Rusnak was tortured to death in November 2023.
