At a briefing at the party‘s office, the Chairman of Georgia‘s Parliament Shalva Papuashvili demanded that ISFED publish the results of the parallel count and not hide the revelations in the report against the opposition or some NGOs.
According to him, NDI and USAID are now responsible for forcing ISFED to publish a full parallel count report, as opposed to 2020.
“Yesterday, you saw that the same scenario as 2020 was repeated. Then they delayed the publication results of parallel count, which according to their methodology is usually published by 12 o’clock. And even then, they missed it because they falsified results of parallel count and couldn’t decide what numbers. To put it precisely, this year, the exact same thing occurred again – ISFED became involved in the same scandal as 2020 cheating scandal. They didn’t release the results. After asking different entities what was going on with parallel counting, ISFED finally released a statement late yesterday night. Of course, they couldn’t avoid it, and in that statement, they said that their results matched the CEC. However, the rest of the details about these issues were hidden and they didn’t want to inform the general public. We therefore request that ISFED publish the results of the full parallel count. Yesterday, during the NDI mission’s briefing, the leader of the mission said that they were awaiting the parallel count report. Now, it is the responsibility of NDI, as their methodology is to call and force ISFED publish the parallel counts. The full report will include all the frauds that Ms. Salome, the opposition or other foreign actors accuse Georgia of. If NDI hid behind its responsibility the last time fake numbers were distributed, they should now correct their mistake. We also remind you that ISFED, as in 2020 and before, conducts parallel counting with funding from USAID. In 2020, it was revealed that USAID was aware that ISFED released fake parallel count results, and was hiding them. This year, the leadership has changed, and the previous leadership was hiding this. The integrity of the new leadership has been questioned. They should ask ISFED to release the full report on the parallel counting, and not hide the revelations in the report against the opposition or some NGOs from the public,” Papuashvili stated.
