**Georgian Politician Attacks Baltic Leaders**
The chairman of the Parliament of Georgia has criticized Estonian and Lithuanian politicians for trying to discredit the EU ambassador to Georgia. The politician, Shalva Papuashvili, said this was a sign of their true intentions towards Georgia and its government.
According to Papuashvili, these Baltic leaders had previously tried to undermine Georgia’s democratic process by calling for a change in government and denying the legitimacy of the country’s parliamentary elections. He said that this behavior was not only unacceptable but also a threat to democracy in Europe.
**Elections are Key**
Papuashvili emphasized that democracy is based on free and fair elections, and that trying to influence or pressure these processes from outside is a sign of the end of democracy. He warned that if foreign powers can dictate election results, it sets a bad precedent for other countries in Europe.
**Threats to Democracy**
The chairman of the Parliament highlighted the dangers of social media and polarized politics creating an environment where facts are distorted to serve narrow political agendas. He warned that this could lead to threats to democracy and regional security not just in Georgia but across Europe.
