Opposition Party Loses Mandates in Parliament
Members of the opposition party, “Natsi”, have lost their parliamentary mandates. According to Chairman Shalva Papuashvili, 49 members of this party are no longer part of parliament.
Papuashvili said that these individuals received what they deserved for taking a traitorous position. He also noted that the phrase “no one enters the same river twice” applies here. The opposition party decided to take a stand against the government, but now they are facing the consequences.
The opposition party, “Natsi”, is not the only one affected by this decision. A total of 49 deputies from three parties – “Unity – National Movement“, “Coalition for Change”, and “Strong Georgia” – have lost their mandates.
The reason behind this decision was a statement made by these individuals in November last year. The government has deemed their actions as illegitimate, and now they are facing the consequences.
The party “Gakharia for Georgia” still remains in parliament with 12 mandates. However, it is not participating in parliamentary activities, considering the October 26 elections to be illegitimate.
