**Georgia’s Speaker of Parliament Calls for Recognition of Democracy**
The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has called on all foreign actors to recognize the democratic will of the Georgian people. In a statement, he said that Georgia is also a test for the European Union and it remains to be seen if they can pass this test.
**Elections Held in October**
Papuashvili noted that elections were held on October 26 and the opposition won 61 mandates in the Parliament of Georgia. He said that all political forces should accept these 61 mandates and enter the parliament, where the space for dialogue is available.
**No Room for Radicalism**
According to him, any other space for dialogue is political radicalism. Papuashvili also called on all foreign actors to recognize democracy, saying that today Georgia is a test for the European Union’s commitment to democratic values and the sovereignty of the people of other countries.
**French President Emmanuel Macron’s Appeal**
In response to French President Emmanuel Macron’s appeal to the Georgian people, Papuashvili said that he wants to call on all foreign actors to recognize democracy. He noted that the European Union does not oblige but offers equal partnership and does not intimidate or use threats against its neighbors.
**A Test for the European Union**
Papuashvili’s statement highlights that Georgia is a test for the European Union, which must prove if it remains loyal to democratic values or chooses the path of non-democratic governments. He also noted that some foreign actors are trying to impose their own will on the Georgian people.
