Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of Parliament, said at a press conference at the office “Georgian Dream” that the record of the resolution against Mikheil Sakaashvili was shameful.
According to him it is shameful for the Georgians to have to watch for 20 years as European politicians first covered the crimes committed by Mikheil Saakashvili when he was in power and now try to free him from a just penalty using European institutions.
Shalva Papuashvili said: “I’ll remind the MEPs who support this resolution as statistics that we’re talking about a man who, with the recognition of European Court of Human Rights, created a “torture” system in Georgian jails and closed or pocketed every television.
