French Ambassador‘s Statement Triggers Response from Georgian Speaker
The speaker of the Georgian parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has responded to a statement made by the French ambassador to Georgia. The ambassador had suggested that new elections in France could be a solution to their current political crisis.
Papuashvili pointed out that over 60% of the French people want President Macron to resign and nearly half want the National Assembly dissolved. He then suggested that new elections might also be a good solution for Georgia‘s own problems, but with an important caveat: he doesn’t intend to interfere in France’s internal affairs.
This exchange started after the French ambassador wrote on social media that Georgian presidential elections could help solve their country’s crisis.
