Papuashvili made this statement in the context of attacks on the Georgian people and government by post-Soviet European Union governments. The question he’s asking was already answered by 54% of voters on October 26, 2024.

The Speaker is drawing a parallel between the elections of October 26, 2024, and a referendum that took place on March 31, 1991. He made this comparison in a speech at a regional event in Mtskheta, which was part of the Georgian Dream‘s election campaign.
