Anyone with eyes can clearly see what the country has achieved over the past 12 years. Shalva Papuashvili said at a campaign event in Zugdidi that today, the foundations for a strong Georgia economy have been laid, and the walls are gone.
Papuashvili claims that today, the people who “economically ruined Georgia” are asking for votes from the populace. According to Papuashvili, a million people in Georgia were unemployed in 2012 as a result the rule of “National Movement”. A regime of authoritarianism was also created.
“Today the opposition, which we seized the politically and economically ruined Georgia from, is asking for votes from the people. We know who we’re dealing with, no matter how much their foreign sponsors hug in their heart. We know what kind of Georgia the foreigners left in 2012. We know very well what kind of Georgia they left in 2012.
According to him the mentioned situation has been changed in 2012, by the decisive votes of the population. This has given hope to the Georgians.
“In 2012, the Georgian people‘s hope was restored by your decisive vote. Standing together, we have halved the unemployment rate and tripled the poverty rate, with nearly a half million people out of poverty. In terms of economic rates, we are at the top of the list not only in Europe, but also in the region – with a doubled economy, a tripled budget, and a tripled average wage,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
