**Presidential Elections to be Held on December 14**
The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has explained the procedures for the upcoming presidential elections. The elections will be held indirectly, similar to those in the United States and Germany.
According to Papuashvili, the electoral college consists of 300 members. Of these, 150 are members of the Georgian Parliament, while the remaining 150 are recruited from local councils across the country. He noted that “Georgian Dream” has a strong presence in the electoral college, with 211 members.
**Breakdown of Electoral College Members**
* “Georgian Dream”: 211 members
* “Akhali” party: 20 members
* “National Movement”: 20 members
* Lelo: 15 members
* Gakharia party: 14 members
* Supreme Council of Abkhazia (non-partisan): 20 members
In total, the opposition has 69 members in the electoral college. Papuashvili also explained that some city councils did not present their representatives, and therefore were allocated to “Georgian Dream”.
**Election Procedure**
The elections will be held from 9:00 to 14:00 on December 14. The Central Election Commission (CEC) will conduct the process, with an election precinct set up in the Parliament’s meeting hall.
Delegates will vote openly and publicly, and voting is not secret. Once the polls close at 14:00, the CEC will count the votes and announce the final result.
**Media Arrangements**
Papuashvili has also announced special arrangements for media coverage of the elections. A separate accreditation system will be in place, allowing foreign media to observe the process. He requested all media outlets, including foreign ones, to contact the apparatus by December 13 to obtain a special pass.
