Parliament to Set Date for Presidential Election
The Parliament of Georgia will decide on the date for the presidential election tomorrow, November 26. This was announced by Shalva Papuashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament.
According to Papuashvili, it is essential that the election and inauguration of the President take place this year. He explained that the Constitution requires a 5-year term for the President. To meet this requirement, the elections and inauguration must be held within this year.
Papuashvili stated that the Parliament will set the date tomorrow, taking into account the necessary circumstances. The goal is to have a new President elected for a 5-year term.
